Fall Wishes for Spring...

I'm in a weird place right now. As a clothing designer, I feel constantly out of place with the seasons. In Spring I'm trying to dream of wooly jumpers and cozy dresses to layer over tights and boots. This time of year, while I should be dreaming of sugarplum fairies and whatnot, I'm drafting patterns for ruffle top shorts and sunsuits.

Yes, I am oh so very very close to having all the samples for the third collection from VintageChild:Modern complete! I feel like VC:M has finally settled into its "voice" with the SpringSummer12 Collection, which makes me feel very very happy. And makes me see polka dots, gingham and little floral prints everywhere I look in the studio.

P.S. - Isn't Little E the darn cutest thing you have ever seen? Ever. These are her own modeling poses. Seriously, it just comes natural to this one.

Spring-spiration!

While my own closet is now being rearranged to make my wooly sweaters and cozy layers more accessible after a brief, but lovely, summer, the studio is turning to thoughts of spring. I'm using the last few days of warmth to pull together inspiration for VintageChild:Modern's Spring Collection 2012 to keep me motivated through the cool, rainy months ahead, although it is never hard to dream of bright and dewey spring days and hot and sunny summer afternoons when sitting window-side with a latte in hand on a rainy morning. Visions of sunsuits and sleeveless blouses are already floating through my head. And my vision for spring is clear....

Chevrons and Solids and Florals, Oh My!

The best thing about an upcoming craft fair? The opportunity to get a little extra creative! The black and white chevron stripes with sky blue tulip pocket and lime floral accent buttons on our A-line Mini Dress... LOVE!
